Busy Times

weddings, photography

When I tell you that I'm amazed at what 2023 is shaping up to be for Uncommon Media, I mean it.

I gave up photography in 2018, after having no business for about a year and a half. I sold all of my gear and just, walked away, after 10 years of working towards something I loved.

In late 2019, the Lord opened the door for me to repurchase some of my gear I'd sold and try again. I documented a trip for some friends doing a trip to DC and haven't really looked back since.

In spite of the pandemic, 2020 brought me a busy wedding year but I can honestly say, 2023-2024 may beat that record.

The Lord has begun opening doors I didn't ask for nor did I expect but when I started back with photography in 2019, I told Him that it was my ministry now. And since moving from Mobile, it's something I have put a lot more time into than platform ministry. And I believe with my whole heart that He's honoring what I did when I gave it back to Him.

I am so very thankful for Uncommon Media and all the joy it has brought me since 2011. I was 18-years-old when I got my first camera and started learning from one of the best photographers I've ever met... and would love to go back to that little teenager and tell her just to keep on. I wish I could go back to my 28 year old self and tell her not to sell her gear and keep on with it. But in the time I wasn't in photography, I learned a lot. It's like anything you step away from that you know God's called you to... you learn A LOT in the process.

So here's to 2023 and 2024 and whatever God has for the next couple of years. I am humbled and honored for the clients we have who continue to use us for their photography needs, no matter where we drive or they do, for the perfect shot. There's so much appreciation that I have to those who choose Uncommon Media for their weddings, events, holiday card images, etc.

Thank you.
